Answers to the questions we hear most often — so you can feel informed and confident.
Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. Unlike synthetic hormones, they are derived from plant sources and are designed to match your body's own estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. HRT replaces the hormones that decline during perimenopause and menopause, helping to relieve symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disruption, brain fog, mood changes, and more.
For most women, especially those who start HRT within 10 years of menopause onset or before age 60, the benefits of hormone therapy significantly outweigh the risks. Current medical evidence supports the safety of bioidentical hormones when prescribed and monitored by a knowledgeable physician. During your consultation, we'll review your personal health history to determine if HRT is appropriate for you.
Many women begin to notice improvements within 2–4 weeks, particularly with hot flashes and sleep. However, the full benefits of hormone therapy — including improvements in mood, energy, cognitive clarity, and body composition — often develop over 2–3 months. We'll monitor your progress and adjust your protocol as needed to get you to your optimal levels.
Yes, baseline lab work helps us understand your current hormone levels and overall health. If you have recent labs (within the last 6 months), bring them to your consultation. If not, we'll order the necessary tests and have them drawn at a lab convenient to you. Labs are an important part of both starting and monitoring your treatment.
Weight gain is actually a common symptom of hormone decline — not hormone replacement. Many women find that optimizing their hormones helps with the stubborn weight gain that started during perimenopause, particularly around the midsection. Testosterone therapy, in particular, can support lean muscle mass and metabolism.
Not at all. In fact, perimenopause is often when symptoms are the most disruptive — irregular cycles, worsening sleep, anxiety, brain fog, and unpredictable hot flashes. Starting hormone therapy during perimenopause can provide significant relief and may also offer long-term protective benefits for bone, brain, and cardiovascular health.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — essentially small proteins — that serve as signaling molecules in your body. They can influence everything from tissue repair and immune function to growth hormone release and sexual health. Therapeutic peptides are prescribed to support specific goals, and they work by enhancing your body's own natural processes rather than replacing them.
When prescribed by a physician and sourced from reputable compounding pharmacies, peptides have an excellent safety profile. We only prescribe peptides that have established clinical evidence supporting their use, and we monitor you throughout treatment. This is not the same as buying peptides online without medical oversight — proper prescribing and monitoring matter.
Absolutely. Peptide therapy and hormone replacement often work beautifully together. For example, growth hormone-releasing peptides can complement HRT by improving sleep, recovery, and body composition, while BPC-157 can support gut health and healing. We'll design a protocol that makes sense for your full picture.
Most peptides are administered via small subcutaneous injections — similar to what you'd see with insulin. The needles are tiny and most patients find them very tolerable. Some peptides are also available in oral or nasal forms. We'll walk you through everything during your consultation and make sure you're comfortable before starting.
After booking your appointment, you'll receive a link to a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. At your appointment time, simply click the link from your phone, tablet, or computer. No special software is needed. We'll have an unhurried conversation about your symptoms, review any lab work, and build your treatment plan together.
We are currently licensed to see patients in select states via telemedicine. During the booking process, you'll be able to confirm whether we can see patients in your state. We're continuing to expand our reach — if we can't see you yet, check back soon.
We are a cash-pay practice, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, many patients are able to submit their visit receipts (called superbills) to their insurance for potential reimbursement. We also keep our pricing transparent so there are no surprises. This model allows us to spend more time with you and focus entirely on your care — not insurance requirements.
Pricing details are available during the booking process. We believe in full transparency — you'll know exactly what to expect before your appointment. Our consultation fees reflect the extended appointment times and personalized attention you receive.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice or to a specialty compounding pharmacy that ships directly to your door. We'll discuss the best option based on your treatment plan — some medications are available at retail pharmacies, while others may require a compounding pharmacy for custom formulations.
